Green
We've given the house a good clean and I went to buy a disinfectant spray but haven't been able to find anything, something like lysol back home. Villa on sukumvit 33/1 didn't have anything. Any ideas? Thanks.

boomerangutang
thanks from me too. That's a Q I've wondered the whole 15 yrs I've resided in Thailand. I even resorted to trying to make my own spray: I soaked cinnamon and cloves (separately) in rice wine for a week. Strained the brown liquid, and then added water and a touch of eucalyptus oil. Used that to spray beds, pillows, etc. Great smell, but slight brown residue. I might try the store-bought stuff.

ToddWeston
Bleach up to 1:10 ratio with water is an excellent disinfectant. An alternative you can add a few drops of tea tree oil to water and spray. http://modernsurvivalblog.com/health/disinfectant-bleach-water-ratio/ http://m.wikihow.com/Make-a-Natural-Disinfectant
GuestHouse
For cleaning surfaces where food is being prepared - use white vinegar, as affective as any commercially produced product and guaranteed not to be dangerous for your health - also works when added to a wash to get rid of musty smells. Don't be a victim of the adverts
tango
#6 Yes, the Lysol smell has finally affected the manufacturer who have turned to a fragrant brand...like apple and cinnamon (not sure), but seen and available only in North America it seems.
