BMA is prepared to hold elections for district council members in 14 districts this April 30th

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) is prepared to hold elections for district council members in 14 districts this April 30th.

BMA Deputy Permanent Secretary Anan Siriphassaraphorn (อนันต์ ศิริภัสราภรณ์) stated that the election in the 14 districts of Bangkok will take place this Sunday, between the time of 8 AM and 3 PM. The 14 districts in which district councils have completed the four-year term on March 9th this year include Bankhen (บางเขน), Chatuchak (จตุจักร), Donmuang (ดอนเมือง), Saimai (สายไหม), Laksi (หลักสี่), Ladphrao (ลาดพร้าว), Bungkum (บึงกุ่ม), Bangkapi (บางกะปิ), Wangthonglang (วังทองหลาง ), Saphansoong (สะพานสูง), Khannayao (คันนายาว), Minburi (มีนบุรี), Khlongsamwa (คลองสามวา), and Ladkrabang (ลาดกระบัง).

This election would be held in the same manner as the last election for district council members. Voters would not have to sign their names in a list of eligible voters, unlike in the recent general and senatorial elections. However, those who go to the poll without their identification cards would have to sign their names in the list. Furthermore, there would not be any signing involved in the head portion of the ballot paper. Mr. Anan made a note that there would not be a box on the ballot for "no vote", and voters who would like to make such choice should proceed by returning the ballot paper to the official at the poll.

The BMA would provide lists of eligible voters at each district office and voting station. Lists detailing the eligible voters for each home in the 14 districts have also been sent out to each house. People are asked to inspect the lists and inform the registrar section of their respective district office for any mistakes.
