I was talking with one of the director of a local BOI office and was informed that the BOI will modify the way they work on January 2015.

Right now, they work with 3 zones, given different benefits depending if you are in zone 1,2 or 3.

I was told that the benefits will be 3 or 5 years in the future, and will be renewable after, depending if there are investment made in Thailand, R&D and more. It will be modified.

2015 is also ASEAN but I was told it was not linked by the person who told me.

So if you want to apply for BOI license and get 8 years of benefits + 5 years if you are in an industrial zone, apply before 1st January 2015 !!!!

Thailand asked that ASEAN EC begin on Dec 31, 2015, not Jan 1, 2015...

Actually most of the ASEAN nations supported the 31 Dec 15 vs 1 Jan 15 date since many of the countries seem to be reluctant players...will hate having to adjust some of their trade rules and taxes.
