seanog
Hi, has anybody tried to transfer large sums (100k + sterling) out of Thailand recently. I did so 3 months ago no problem. Yes I have all Tor Tor Sams and the funds are going back to my originating account. I am now told that this will not suffice as I now need to prove that my business in Thailand has been sold and tor tor sams are irrelevant? I have tried more than one bank and they all say New Rules from Bank of Thailand ???? Edited October 18, 2013 by metisdead Please do not post using all caps. Topic title edited to remove all caps. wordchild
Its not ideal I know but if you keep each transfer under 50000 USD which is the BOT reporting level there should be no issue. this is the level beyond which your bank needs to ask you for proof of the origin of the funds in Thailand. eg transfer 30000 pounds every day for a few days and you will get the job done. Bangkok Bank suggested I do this once when I was unsure I had all the paperwork. Edited October 21, 2013 by wordchild
