Sd12 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Just a question. I have a house in Thailand, wife and 1 year old daughter. I work in the uk.I noticed that you can register a child with the British embassy in Bangkok. Would it be advisable to register my daughter with the British embassy in Thailand? Are there any benefits to this. I would be looking to take them both over for a two week holiday in the next 2 years. Thanks.
ubonjoe Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Birth registration is optional. But getting her a UK passport would be needed for her trip along with a Thai passport for her departure and return to Thailand.
lopburi3 Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 As said you should get her a UK passport if you are UK citizen able to pass nationality to child.
cbluck58 Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 You can do the registration , get a UK birth certificate and the passport application all in one hit .
