Business trip abroad AND renewing my extension of stay at same time

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have to finish a project in China in November and i'm very busy that month. At the same time i have to renew my Thai extension of stay and WP which expires 16th November. My agent telling me that i have to stay in Thailand for the whole renewing process. That will make me loose to 500 000++ baht if i cant deliver in November. Is there anyway to postpone the expire day?

Any other ideas?

It would be grateful for some advice from you.

There is no delaying the expiration date of your extension or work permit.

You can apply early for both. The extension can be done up to 30 days early and even longer at some offices.

I don't know how you would loose 500K baht unless that is what they would charge you to start things all over again if you let your extension expire.

Go now and reapply for the new extension, if all the papers are ok, you will get a one month conditional approval with a return date of 16th December. On this date you will need to go back to immigration for the balance of the eleven months stamp to 16/11/2014 once your extension has been formally approved by head office.

Get a single re-entry permit for 1,000 THB to cover your trip to China, make your 500,000 THB then re-enter Thailand before the 16th December when you need to return to immigration.

Don't forget to get a new (single/mulltiple) re-entry permit if you will need one during the following 11 months.

Re-entry Permits only live as long as the specific permission stamp they are issued against.
