Renewing non-immigrant visa: can it be done earlier?

Featured Replies

I have been renewing my Non-Immigrant type "O" visa for 14 years now and always after the existing visa expired.

Current visa expiring in February 2014 but wish to apply for new one earlier, got my reasons. Can this be done and how early can I apply? Just for the record: all these years I got my visa in Thai Consulate in KL, no exceptions.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you are asking but if you want a Multiple Entry Non "O" visa from KL then all I can do is wish you the best of luck!

These visas are only issued for a reason .

It would help if you could explain why you need such a visa

I have been getting 1 year multiple NON-O visa from KL for 14 years without any problems whatsoever. But that is not the point. My question is how early can I apply for new 1 year visa before current one expires. That's all.

You can apply whenever you like. A new visa cancels the old.

Thank you. That is all I wanted to know.

You may well find that you will not get one this time.

Yup just saw that. Not good.

Make a trip to Savannakhet Laos they still do them based upon marriage with no proof of income.

Penang also but results vary with some being asked to show 400K baht in the bank.

The rule is one active visa. You can not obtain early unless previous visa is canceled. A Consulate is not likely to be happy to do this to a visa they have not issued themselves from reports I have seen.
