7 day extension of multi-entry non-b , possible ?

Featured Replies

As the title suggests, can you at the end of your year validity of a multi-entry non-b extend it by 7 days at immigration ?

thanks

TM.7 extension request that is not approved allows 7 days to depart so in effect you get a 7 day extension.

PS I realise a quick border hop is one way around the problem (only need an extra 5 days)

You can extend your permit to stay by 7 days but not the visa validity.

You can use the visa for one more entry just before the enter before date on the visa and get another 90 day entry also. The visa expiration date dose not limit the amount of time you can be in the country only maximum amount of time you can use the visa for entry.

whistling.gif As another poster stated you can if you have a true multi-entry VISA do a border run and then re-enter to get a 90 day permission to stay on entry.

But this must be done before your visa expires. Multi entry visas have an expiration date stamped or written on them.

Now this is not true of extensions for visas ..... which you get in Thailand at your local immigration.

Many people mistake a VISA, which you get outside of Thailand, for an EXTENSION to a visa which you get from the local immigration in Thailand.

The difference is important, because a multi entry visa issued outside of Thailand can be used for a border run to get another 90 day entry and a permitted stay in Thailand entry stamp even after the visa expires whereas an extension can NOT be used to exit and re-enter and get another 90 day permitted to stay stamp.

So, assuming you really do have a non B multi entry visa, you should exit the day before it expires, turn around and re-enter Thailand.

That will get you a permitted to stay stamp on re-entry which will gie you another 90 day stay ..... even after your visa actually expires.

So, for example, if your visa expires on 30 October, you could do a border run on 29 or 30 October. Exit Thailand and immediately return. You will then get a permitted to stay stamp in your passport for another 90 days .... even though your actual visa expires on 30 October.

This will not work on the31st of October or if you have an extension, not a real visa.
