Deserted
What is bash or closest equivalent in Thai? Is there such a word other than hit hard? On line dictionaries are of no help. tx
Mole
Depends what thing is bashing. กระแทก should be close enough
Mole
If you mean people bashing, then for verbal bashing, you could use โจมตี while for physical bashing you can use กระทืบ.
Deserted
Bashing an object, to hit something hard.
Mole
For objects, you can use กระแทก กระทบ or ปะทะ ปะทะ means 2 objects hitting eachother or collision. Note that โจมตี and กระทืบ can only be used with people. While ปะทะ can also mean "versus" for example 2 people or 2 teams facing each other in competition. If a person bashing an object, ทุบ can be used. Edited October 26, 2013 by Mole
rak sa_ngop
I have heard โจมตี used a lot on news programmes in the sense of attack, assault e.g rebels attacking a police station etc. Other words to consider might include ฟาด ตี ฟัน ต่อย etc.

Barabbas
Second that ฟาด is fairly commonly used as well.
Mole
ฟาด is when you use something to hit something else. Usually there's some kind of swinging motion involved such as using a bat, stick, racket, whip, chain, etc.. ทุบ is usually used when you are hitting something in order to destroy it or break it into pieces. Can be with your own hands or with tools.
