Bomb on rail track near rubber protest site delays southern trains

Southern trains from Bangkok to the South were delayed for almost two hours at Bang Saphan district of Prachuab Khiri Khan after police found a home-made bomb planted on the railway tracks.

The finding of the bomb was not far from the place where rubber and palm oil farmers are holding protest and blocking Phetkasem highway.

Police said that the bomb was placed beneath the rail line with a message written on the paper tied to it. However the bomb was not connected to the ignition circuit.

But the police said even though the ignition circuit was not connected to the bomb, they have to destroy it for safety reason.

The police said that EOD police used a high pressure water gun to destroy the bomb.

All trains passing the Bang Saphan railway station on the southern route were delayed for almost two hours yesterday.

Today farmers continued to block the highway by cutting more trees to use as barricades to block almost five kilometer section of the highway.

They said this was to prevent anti-riot police from coming to disperse them again after yesterday’s failure to remove their tree barricades.

Thailand continues to inch closer to anarchy with each passing day.

No rule of law. No law enforcement. A 'police' (and I use the word very loosely) force that is beyond useless. People who do what they want without any regard for others.

How much longer can this continue?
