MOPH announcement on health insurance

A few weeks ago some members of this forum stated that after paying Bht 2,800 (annual fee) they had received a card from the Ministry of Public Health making them eligible for free basic medical care. After reading the MOPH's announcement in the newspaper last week I decided to contact their hotline as well as 2 local government hospitals. All 3 had a good laugh at my request for a card. Their answer was the same in all 3 cases: farangs must get their own private insurance. I'd love to hear from the farangs who contend they got their card.
