scorecard
Yes you need a medical certificate and new pictures. You can do the medical certificate anywhere. The medical is: - Very simple very fast check - it's not much more than: 'yes, two arms and two legs... pass' - Plus blood test, mostly checking for syphillus and a couple of other rare nasties. In Bkk the test report usually comes back from the pathology lab the next day. The doctor I used for years, in Bkk, used a lab which charges just 150Baht for the test. One point to be careful - for years the main labour office in Bkk (at Din Daeng) would only accept the blood report on a document from the lab, they wouldn't just accept a comment from the doctor (re the blood test) on the main medical certificate. Not sure if they still demand the report from the lab. There must be laboratories like this in the Hua Hin area.

JoeLing
I only got some papers from my accountant, my blue book andmy passport and went to Kota Bharu to renew my Non O andwork permit. Did not have any medical and only two passportpictures for my visa. I only went for a medical years ago when I applied the first timefor my work permit and for my driving licence. Never since. I used to do it all by myself but that was always a pain in the arseand sure, there was always some papers missing, not up to dateor I had to much documents. No idea what I would need if I only go to immigration but Malaysia once a year is fine for me ;-)
