PM discusses cooperation in defense industry with world military leaders

BANGKOK, 6 November 2013 (NNT) – The Thai Prime Minister has welcomed top military officers from around the world who are currently on a visit to Thailand to take part in the “Defense & Security 2013”.

At Government House, Prime Minister and Defense Minister Yingluck Shinawatra hosted a tea party for Defense ministers and senior military leaders from several countries which are taking part in the Defense & Security 2013 show in Thailand.

The event is one of the largest defense and security exhibitions ever held in Southeast Asia. It is expected to promote Thailand’s involvement in the world defense industry and upgrade its armaments and technology.

Among the military leaders attending the reception were General Sir John Nicholas Reynolds Houghton, Chief of the Defense Staff of the British Armed Forces; Polish Deputy Defense Minister Waldemar Skrzypczak; Dr. Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman, Singaporean Minister of State, Ministry of National Development & Ministry of Defence; Minister for Defense Production of Pakistan Rana Tanveer Hussain, and Malaysian Minister of Defense and acting Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein. In her discussions with those dignitaries, Prime Minister Yingluck touched on military relations between Thailand and those countries and ways to strengthen their cooperation in the defense industry.

The “Defense & Security 2013” exhibition is currently held at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani and will run until November 7th. Over 200 defense and security companies from 36 countries are taking part in the event.

And my brother wants to be able to sell all sorts of weapons to both sides if civil war breaks out. And make lots of money

I wonder if they discussed Prada handbags and Burberry boots?

The PM (aka Minister of Defense) has no real idea of the military at all.

"defense industry" LD's dictionary defines: People without a conscience who create weapons of mass destruction to kill for the sake of the profit of paranoid governments and whose only interest is its own survival and those of its supporting interests. The term is closely related to fascism and corruption which are the natural concomitants of these gravy sucking pigs.

I want to hear her welcome Mr. Waldemar Skrzypczak.

She can't speak normal things...and this is really difficult.

Why would Thailand ever need to to upgrade their military hardware. Who do they need to protect themselves from; the Burmese, Cambodians, the apposing party? This goes against everything you're supposed to stand for. That's all the world needs; One of the most corrupt countries in the world holding an arms exhibition, and another group of children with weapons of mass destruction!
