hoping to get some information that may help me. i have not talked or emailed the USA embassy as i think i may get good information here.

scenerio

i have been coming to thailand for the last 10 years and staying anywhere from 8-10 months before going back to USA to work for a few months then returning again to thailand. i have used proper visas to stay in thailand with no overstays. i have no real intentions of living in the states again.

i now have been with the same thai girl for over 2 years and our intentions are to stay together and eventually in time get married. we both are quite happy were our relationship is.

i want to bring her to the states to meet my family, my family meet her and she can see as well. there is no intentions of getting married on this trip. more then likely stay less then 90 days. maybe even much shorter depending on what her employer allows her to take vacation time.

she has graduated from a university, has been employed over 10 years with the same company, no criminal record, never worked or even came close to a bar but she is far from rich with money in the bank. her earnings go back to her family and just finished building a home for her family.

i think the easiest route is to apply for fiancee visa. and just get married. but that is not what we want to do.

what are our best options? what visa?

thank you

If your purpose on this trip is truly -- and solely -- that your Thai GF meet your parents, the absolutely easiest thing to do is to all meet in Bermuda where a Thai citizen gets up to a 6 month visa-free entry no questions asked.

Apply for the visa which suits the intentions of the visit. In your case the B2 tourist visa would be appropriate.

Fill out the application. Be honest from start to finish. Check your information several times, then check it again.

Compile all the necessary information to prove her ties to Thailand. Job, money, house, land, letter from employer, etc.

The Embassy might consider 90 days is a bit of a stretch considering she is employed. You may want to consider less.

Your passport information could prove useful. I would submit copies (or if you're here at the time of the interview, give the GF your passport with pages flagged) of enter and exit stamps for each time you have been in Thailand, along with copies of your visa's.

She should dress business casual for the interview, and be on time.

Good luck, and keep us informed
