Thai version of Thai Visa?

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of any online forums where Thais might complain about farang? I woud love to hear what they think is weird/stupid/incomprehensible about Westerners and Western culture. If i ask most Thais I know, they are so greng jai about it that I don't know how they really feel.

Forums written in Thai are preferable.

Thanks!

Firstly, I think your concept is Thai Visa is a little askew.

If all your experiences of Thailand were spent in a NANA on a Bar Stool (not saying that you did/do/or will) they you will have a very myopic view of the Kingdom.

Ditto if you spend all your time posting and reading only in the General or News Forum.

The strength of this place are away from those two Forums ... take the time to explore them.

As a direct answer to your OP ... well, they, the Thais simply don't care.

If they want to know something ... they just ask their Girlfriend/Mother/Neighbour/Second Cousin, who may or may not know the answer ... but gives advice and sometimes, sometimes often the response is taken as Gospel.

It's against the rules to post leads to other websites, but the main one my gf belongs to ... the popular topic of conversation are Visas.

Sorry to disappoint ...

Well, I was kind of joking about Thai Visa being a place where foreigners only complain about Thais, though you do see a lot of that around here... but what I mean is a place where Thais might talk about difficulties they have with foreigners. "Why do farang (always)....?" kind of questions. Cultural misunderstandings, things they think are funny or weird., etc. I would like to see Thais talking about it in a (relatively) unreserved way. I always get a sugar-coated farang-friendly version. This kind of website may not exist... you may be right about that.

I was thinking maybe a forum designed for Thais living abroad? Village girls far from home in Europe or Australia, something like that.

I think a lot of Thais will not ask questions anyway, either through embarrassment (not wanting to be seen as not knowing, or not wanting to embarrass the person they might ask) or as David says they just don't care.

My wife will stay up to date with the news, on both English and Thai sites. She will also just chat with her friends about random things on Facebook and Line. As far as I know, she has never mentioned any forums such as this.

No need for you to worry about this Mr Kapom,I can assure you there are plenty of Thais and born again Farang/Thais on TV,who are more than up to keeping the Thai Flag flying on TV. Judging by your command of English,i'm sure you can hold your own in any debate, or discussion! so let's hope that we can all have a friendly discussion without being pestered by Trolls, eh! wink.png

Why would average Thai people even think about white westerners in Thailand on an average day? Most do not see any in person and even fewer interact with white westerners.
