thailiketoo
My soi dog likes squeak toys. She has 3 of them. When she wants to play fetch she brings them to me and I throw them and she brings them back. She can carry two in her mouth at one time. She has a soft mouth and would make a good retriever. This morning when i went to feed her I thought she had a squeak toy in her mouth as she would bite down and the thing squeaked. I was still half asleep. She was running around squeaking this thing when I noticed it had a tail and was alive. She does a good job keeping the place rat free but she has to bring them to me so I'll know she is doing her job.

thailiketoo
^ might have rabies or an infection from those rats She has all of her shots. Is your concern based on being an animal lover or trying to make me look stupid?
sms747
Anyone who feeds soi dogs is stupid and irresponsible, unless they paid for them to be sterilized. Have you done that? Edited November 30, 2013 by sms747
thailiketoo
Anyone who feed soi dogs is stupid and irresponsible, unless they paid for them to be sterilized. I adopted the soi dog - had her neutered and gave her all of her shots. She has a nice life and she guards my home with her life. She has already caught one burglar/peeping tom. Anyone who assumes things without knowing or asking is stupid.
sms747
Not really a soi dog is it then but an ex soi dog. Soi dogs as such are dangerous vermin that should be put down. If you want to take one in that's different.

NewlyMintedThai
Street dogs are -- at least for me -- one of the most charming aspects of life in Thailand. The ones I have adopted have been wonderful, loyal family members.
Popular Post thailiketoo
A thousand years ago Thai village dogs wandered about the village finding pit vipers and scorpions and preventing the children from being bitten. They warned the village against large predators and marauding tribes. They still do the same. My dog thinks my house and grounds are her village. She protects them, licks my hand and sleeps at my feet because I am her pack leader. Her family has been in Thailand for thousands of years and her relatives went to Australia and became dingos. Sometimes they are called pariah dogs. She is a big strong dog. I fed her from a pup. She can knock over a man on a run with no problems. She is a native of South Asia. I can tell members of her family all over town. And maybe they can smell her on me because other dogs never bother me. She has no sense of time. She acts like I've been away for a month when I come home after an hour at the store, She still thinks its a thousand years ago and she is a village dog. Soi dogs only need a chance. There are better dogs for pets but they are hardy, healthy and used to the climate (they are natives). Other dogs may learn quicker or come quicker when you call but I don't worry she won't know a Malaysian pit viper is dangerous. She knows. Are they a breed? They all exhibit the Pariah Morph. You can look it up. She never treats me bad. She never tries to cheat or steal from me (other than my shoes and towels). She doesn't call me Farang. She calls me woof. She never asks me for money or new clothes. One squeak toy a month and she is happy. Sometimes she cries. She wants a pat on the head. Not food. She's not hungry. She just wants a pat on the head and then she goes back to sleep. I don't care what kind of being it is. But it is nice, and refreshing, that there is one entity in the world that just wants to know I am alive and wants a pat on the head.
