TOT broadband speed since the outage last week . . .

Featured Replies

Ever since the TOT ADSL broadband went down last week then came back on, my 6 Mbit connection is running dead-on at 2 Mbits.

I can get no more, whether I'm connecting to a server inside or outside of Thailand.

Anyone else in the same position?

Anyone in the know about these things got any inside info, and is this everywhere, or just me . . . ?

In the news section Rob, all internet was affected with CAT being taken off the air due to the protests.

Even usually very reliable 3 BB has been up and down like a yo yo... these last few days! facepalm.gif

Well I did wonder about that. Thanks for pointing it out. But this has been going on since last week. My net meter on downloads shows a clean cap at 2 Mbits.

Had to run to Chaweng today and popped in to the TOT office in Bo Phut.

All the staff were glued to the scenes of the demonstrations being broadcast on Bluesky channel.

When I asked about my internet dwindling to nothing the engineer (who's been there a loooong time - ie not some new kid) mentioned nothing about anything BKK related, but checked my number and then said he'd get a crew round to check the line. . . . .

There's also a new estate right close to me that filling up with those of a Slavic persuasion - so the other possibility that that I've suddenly got 40 other people sharing my line . . .

Guess I'll just have to grin and bear it till the fuss in the big city dies down and then see how it all pans out.

CAT has been out for a few hours now, with a "invalid user name message" when trying to access any site.

Had an outage last week with TOT on Phangan but we're up again since 2 (?) days, ~7 down, 0.4 up i.e. business as usual.

No problem for me no problem at all here is my connection test

Download Speed: 19606 kbps (2450.8 KB/sec transfer rate)

Upload Speed: 1884 kbps (235.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 34 ms

as usual check your line values in the modem, SNR must be 15 minimum to get a reliable link.
