where can you buy medicine on Sunday morning in bkk?

Featured Replies

Hello!

I am going to stay in bkk near Don Mueang Airport for one night. After that I will stay on smaller islands. My hotel in bkk is right next to the Governement Complex.

Before going to the islands, I have to buy some medicine.

Can you tell my where the next bigger pharmacy is?

It should be open at Sunday Morning(7:00-10:00 - as I have to be at Don Muaeng airport at 10:15), would be perfect if you could tell me a adress to give to the taxi driver.

Thank you very much! Many Greetings.

I'd start with changing hotel locations if you can, given the current unrest. While things have calmed for now they may start up again later this week.

The Amari Airport and Asia Airport Hotels are both closer to Don Muang than where you propose to stay and well clear if likely demonstration sites.

As for pharmacies would help to know what medications you plan to buy?

I need to buy Lyrica(Pregabalin) 150mg...

I know about the protests in this area, but a friend of mine was in this hotel 3 nights ago and told me that there were protests, but he saw no violence, everything stayed friendly...

The situation is unpredicable security-wise, that your friend had no problems doesn't mean much. Things can and do change rapidly.

For Lyrica you need a large pharmacy, it will not be carried at places like Boots etc. I am not sure where you would find one iof those in that area open on a Sunday, maybe other members can advise. (Cheng Wattana- Don Muang area)

It will also be expensive as it is imported, not made in Thailand. . Is it not possible to bring with you from home?

I can get only one prescription from my doctor, that means that it will only be enough for about 4 weeks. I can be glad that I get this amount...

I know it will be expensive, but that is not so important as it is also expensive in my home country.

Do you know if small pharmacies (for example on an island like koh lanta or koh phayam) can order lyrica for me? so that I can come and buy it a day or a few days later?

In Turkey I once bought some...they had to order it and a guy on a motorbike brought them 20min later. In germany pharmacies get the drugs, that they don't have in the shop, once or twice a day.

I have no idea how this works in thailand.

I don't need them in the first weeks, but I won't have enough for my whole holiday.

I would not be sure of getting this on Koh Lanta etc.

This would be easy if you were staying further downtown, there are some large pharmacies that cater ti tourists and are open on Sundays on Sukhumb=vit near the expressway. But up where you are I have less information.

There is a pharmacy ion Chaeng Wattrana Road called "Chaeng Wattana Pharmacy" but I have no idea if it is open on a Sunday nor its phone number.

I suggest you ask at your hotel for the nearest large pharmacy that is open.

Worst case, take the expressway into town getting off at Sukhumvit, right opposite the expressway exit is a very large pharmacy, then you can get right back on the expressway and go to Don Muang. But this will take up to an hour round trip so leave time for it.
