Anybody have any RECENT experience getting a Thai Tourist Visa at the Consulate in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam? Is it possible to get a double entry Tourist Visa there? How long did it take to get your Visa?

Thanks in advance!

Was there more than a year back. Bad experience, man! It was extortionate and there's too many hassles and hustles. But to answer your question, yes, it is possible to get the multiple entry visa that is I'm assuming you are not Asian. As to how long it takes, it depends on how much are you willing to fork out. I simply felt it was not worth it. So I left to Vientiane and got mine there. But who knows things might have change now. Good luck! :)

From all reports I have seen they only do single entry tourist visas.

Well, maybe they were trying to scam me by saying it's possible. And probably would tell me later that it's not possible or rejected after I part with my money. I'll take your word my wise friend:)

whistling.gif Be aware that in any case a visa for Vietnam is NOT a cheap affair here in Bangkok.

You will need to spend some money just to get that visa and enter Vietnam before you can find out if you can get more than a single entry Thai visa back to Thailand.

The best your going to get anyhow is a 30 day single entry INTO Vietnam before you can find out if you can get more than a single entry tourist visa back to Thailand.

I wouldn't chance it unless you all you really want a 30 day holiday in Vietnam.

I tried to apply 1 entry Tourist visa on 29.11 and it was denied instantly.

In my visa there was 2 Tourist Visas (last one from 9/2012) and 1 student visa which just expired.

I had copies of flights in and out of Thailand and copies of my bankbook showing over 20K thb and all the necessary copies of passport.

The lady behind the desk went to the backroom with all my papers and came back soon saying "sorry but the officer said that there is too many Thai visas in your passport."

Same thing happened to my friend so i was prepared for this and had a nice holiday anyways. But never will try a visa from there again.

Edit: Almost forgot, i was the only customer at the embassy.

Hi

Can I ask approx what time you went there ?

I see on the Saigon Thai Consulate website the morning hours are 8.30 - 11.30.

Also does anyone know if being refused a tourist visa there would affect being able to get one in say Phnom Penh ?

Do they mark a refusal in your passport ?

Reason for asking is I have flights booked to go there( Saigon) 8 Jan and would be handy if I could get a single entry Thai tourist visa.

Not the end of the world if declined as actually having a holiday there.

I`ve no tourist visas in my passport( currently on Thai O visa) so am thinking I should be OK, will report back how I get on.
