[Cambodia] Be active in exploring your study abroad options with IDP NextStep Seminars

Studying at university in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK, or the US is a dream for many. The academic and long-term career opportunities, the life-changing social experiences, travel and independence all make studying abroad an exciting and rewarding prospect.

Applying for a scholarship has been a well-known gateway for many Cambodian students who seek to further their study and to experience life abroad. In addition, more students can also afford to study abroad than ever before. In other words, prospective students are able to actively explore their study options and devise a concrete plan for them.

The IDP NextStep Seminars aims to provide such information so that more Cambodian students have the chance to study abroad. The event aspires to be the platform that allows alumni to transfer successful strategies on study application, financial aid, scholarships from the universities, etc to prospective students.

Held on the last Saturday of each month, IDP invites alumni to share their study abroad experiences with students who are planning to study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, UK, and USA. Through this process, prospective study abroad students can gain professional advice and guidance that can help them define their next step after graduating from high school or university.

Guest alumni speakers to date have included Dr.Chhan Kanora, who received his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Columbia University, USA and has more than 20 years of teaching and consulting experience in Australia (University of Western Sydney, Singapore and France); Ms. Nget Rachana, a Fulbright scholar who studied Software Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University; as well as Mr Sok Heng who did his Master degree in Economic System Design at University of Chapman, USA. Besides study abroad information, topics such as career planning and IELTS tips are also introduced as they are the essential elements in helping students to achieve their dream of studying abroad.

“As you explore educational opportunities abroad, you’ll be provided accurate advice and support so you can make the best decision,†explained Piseth Cheap, Chief Counsellor and IDP Education (Cambodia).
