Cineplex Near Tesco

Recommended Posts

I was in Samui last Friday

(for the auction of children art and a new exhibition at the Art Palace, a great evening by the way)

and I was so happy to learn that a Cineplex has just opened.

I love to go to the movies at an actual theatre, this is a treat when I go to Bangkok but here in Nakhon the movies are 99% of the time in Thai, dubbed movies are just not the same.

It will be great to go see a movie in English once in a while.

Does anyone know where to check for the schedule?

I can't seem to google it successfully

thanks a bunch :o

The website is:

http://www.majorcineplex.com

But Samui isnt yet listed. Has show times for all other countrywide cinemas so I assume 'soon'....

3 screens, 2 in Thai and one English.

I went last week at 2.10pm. Matinee ticket prices were 100 baht and 120 baht. The higher priced ones were the SAME except a movable armrest. Stick to the 100 baht tickets! They are the first 2/3 rds of the cinema. Around 50 people were there. Seems to fit 500+. You could move around also.

'MI3' was playing, and OK. Screen big, picture great, Thai subtitles correct (per GF), but LOUD (typical Thai). And COLD (again typical).

So take something warm and enjoy! :o

thank you for the info guys

I will keep checking for the site to be updated.

So only one screen in English, well that's better than here anyway.

I hope "The Da Vinci Code" will be showing in Samui,

this is one movie I would rather not see in a DVD.

I generally only get to see movies on DVDs but some movies are really better on a big screen.

www.movieseer.com is a good website for movies in Thailand .... will give you info on what's showing most everywhere and is easier to navigate than the others

Except it shows "The DaVinci Code" as being in English when it is in Thai.

Not so. Movieseer is more clever than that. The left side column lists the theaters where it is playing, when you click on an individual theater link it brings up showtimes and subtitle information for that venue. Subtitle languages vary by theater.

If you follow your link, click on Samui, it shows "Da Vinci Code"

PG13

English Version

Which is what I said - but they are showing the Thai version.

So, we went to Samui this past weekend, and we went to the movies at the new Cineplex :o

Da Vinci Code was only in Thai so we saw Poseidon and X-men

Not brain food but X-men was fun :D

and Poseidon was predictable but entertaining enough.

It was just so easy to guess who would die.

He's too cocky and has a funny mustache so he will die, she is annoying and hysterical so she must die, young children rarely die, good looking leading men rarely die,

No matter, I was just happy to see movies in English in a theatre

Ditto for glad to see ANY movie in english here. :o

They don't make it clear when any movies are in english,

But Davinci Code is in English also at Cineplex,

I saw it 1st time in Thai, and second time in English.

Maybe someday they will realize the money they can make

letting Farangs know WHEN they are showing in English or V.O. :D
