Applying for a 60-day tourist visa in Yangon

Featured Replies

Hello TV,

I am from the Philippines and currently in Bangkok on visa-upon-arrival (28 days) which expires on Dec 31. My Spanish partner (who is on a Thai retirement visa) and I want to go to Myanmar for a short holiday and also to get a tourist visa of 60 days (plus 30 days extension).

I have outlined some questions which I hope you can address:

1). Do I need a visa to enter Myanmar (Or will I be exempted because of the ASEAN clause)?

2). What about my partner? If any, do we need to process it before our travel or can we get one at the airport? Do you know how much it will cost?

3). How easy is it to get a 60-day visa at the Thai Embassy in Yangon? How much will it cost or is it free (again, ASEAN)? If anybody has experience getting one, can you please tell me the step-by-step procedure?

Thank you very much.

You will both need a visa to enter Myanmar. You can get them the same day at the Myanmar embassy in Bangkok.

You can get a free single entry tourist due to a bilateral agreement. Or pay 2000 baht for a 2 entry visa.

You both will need visas for Myanmar. Info is on this forum: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/168-myanmar-visas/
