Asked whether she has discussed any political issue with Gen. Prem, Ms. Yingluck simply smiled and left the press conference.

It appears this is Yinglucks strategy, smile and walk away or cry and give speech then walk away and smile.

Do grow up, Waza. This was a private meeting. It would have been the hight of bad manners to have come out of the door and start spouting off about "he said this" and "I said that". If you notice, Gen. Prayuth also had the courtesy to keep his mouth shut.

I just wish your side could engage in proper debate, and not this constant sniggering and bitching about YS as a person..

And I wish 'your side' could engage in proper debate, and not this constant sniggering and bitching about AV, ST and what happened 3 years ago.

She is Thaksin's sock puppet, she has no idea what is going on and won't answer any questions until she has reported back to the fugitive and been debriefed.

Yingluck : Please stop those nasty protestors and let me bring my brother back, please please.

Gen : Can't.

Yingluck : Why not ?

Gen : Not my job, army stays out of politics.

If it turns violent then the army may step in to stop the violence. So those of you asking what the government has to gain by violence, army doesn't always mean coup. If it turns violent the army can step in to stop the violence and force the protestors away as happened in 2010. Depends who causes the violence hence the 'men in black' and the hit and run incidents from the government side, they want as much plausible deniability as possible.

How long have you been hearing voices?cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcoffee1.gif

We all know that Prem was, and is the most powerful man in Thailand. No doubt on that.

We 'know' no such thing - ignorance showing I'm afraid. He is only one member of the Privy Council.

As Thaiatheart says it is just an annual courtesy event where the military and defence minister (which YL is) visit Prem to wish him good health for the new year.

As it was a private meeting no details will be forthcoming. It's a non-event.

That was the perfect opportunity to "coup" her.

BTW, where was Suthep? Abhisit? Not invited to the party?

That's an idiot question.

This was a courtesy call made by Yingluck and the top military brass. Why would they invite Suthep and Abhisit?

Because an empty zoo isn't fun?

Another poster who cant post about the topic and must stoop to flaming other posters. But having said you ridiculous statement its interesting to note that Yingluck actually made you and geriatrickid look a bigger fools than you both did.

"Ms. Yingluck told reporters later that Gen. Prem has advised her to take heed to New Year message from His Majesty the King, in which the monarch called for unity of all Thais."

PS: its not a game or a competition and there are no sides! just differing opinions.

And some posters here still doubt, that the feudal system led by Amart exists??

This is exactly the system Suthep and his supporters want to keep in place, so even in the future theThais will continue to kiss up and kick down!!bah.gif

High time for a change, but Suthep is not the man to do it with his undemocratic nonsense rhetoric!!

PTP, without the Shins, may be the long time solution??

So the caretaker PM makes a courtesy call to the head of His Majesty's privy council and suddenly we're have a feudal system! clap2.gif

Every government in Thailand has been a puppet government for the last thirty years. To be fair, so has my homeland, the US, but our history of democracy goes back a bit further. Choose whether you like Punch or Judy, but it has always been a Puppet Show. Representative democracy is deeply flawed, but it has more condiments and less bitter taste than the other turd sandwiches we have for options. Ask the North Koreans in their gulags...oh, forgot, there are no N Korean Gulags.

Happy New Year!

A perfect opportunity to coup her ? ... what a silly reply,

For what reason do you thing she should have been treated with a political coup d'e-tat at this meeting, because she was elected as PM by the majority of the Thai electorates at the last general election, and that might happen again.

To all or most of you that have left comments here, I would like to ask you what YOU would do if YOU were in her shoes??????? I dont think YOU would have any idea at all what to do, so one should not critasize what one would not or does not know what to do. Suthep is a killer and is wanted - Yingluck is not. Remember that.

Closed door job. No answers given by the P.M. as usual, just a smile. totally agree with your view.

Look at it this way, Had I thought for 1 minute the P.M. had done a good job in government, I would have thought it odd she didn't explain anything, she should have commented as the media were barred.

This is why posters see the situ as is. her arrogance OR it's not any ones business. <deleted>. this reflects the whole government, you voted us in SO NOW we can do what we like good or bad. Lump it Thai people till our democratically elected term has run 4 years---- Ha Ha Ha.

Your ignorance is on full display with your comment. Discussions with a senior privy councillor are not open to the public. Had any comment been made, there would have been a violation of protocol and accusations of contempt. Do you have any understanding of the role of the privy council in Thailand, or do you just see this as an opportunity to take a cheap shot at PM Yingluck? I'll make it clearer: A PM is not supposed to discuss the details of these meetings. No PM who wishes to continue without an accusation of contempt discusses the meetings in public.

Talking about ignorance, you are the one to speak, Even if I am wrong, no need to let your daft out, you are also on display using snotty talk, who do you think you are-the bees knees???? all your denial re The Shin family speaks words.

How many of your posts take cheap shots at the opposition, LOADS.

Speaking the truth I was NOT aware of the secrecy of such meetings. SO why the topic if no one is allowed access to speak. The press here are out of order then because it stated that the PM ignored them, maybe they should know what you ALWAYS SEEM to know more than most and always try to look like a learned poster. If you do not like my comment then do not call me ignorant. Happy new year GK

Just remember you are not in America, England, Austraalia, or any of those other countries that think they are so great. OK?????? HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO AND TO YOURS.

"In recent years the council and its president in particular, has been accused of interfering in politics. This stems from the councils closeness to the military in particular during the 2006 coup" (Wiki)

If we are going to post within the rules of Thaivisa, let us leave it there!

I would like to know WHO called the meeting ??????

Doubt the PM as she wants to lay low. Me thinks it must have been Prem-his home.

So the governments business is no concern of the Thai people. Family bow out you have had your innings or nearly.

Its a yearly event. A bit like your father in laws birthday.

SO ???? MUMS THE WORD, oh please give the Thai people a break for hells sake.

I didn't see in the topic heading. The PM had an audience with Prem and others as it is an annual event, and no one is allowed to ask the PM any questions.

Now for my ?

It is a yearly thing for the pm to visit the head of the privy council. Maybe the report doesn't say it, but it is.

He's the power broker.

Most likely, Prem had to explain to her what the New Year's message candidly implied. Perhaps she still didn't quite 'get it', else there was nothing that she would want to admit to, for the outside world to hear.

Could not remember the last 2 years meetings in topics, Maybe that's why I was stupid. But it then said in the heading the press were ignored by the P.M. why were Thai press there to get answers they of all people should not ask if it is private--another reason I made the mistake. Ok thanks for that, we can all help at times.thumbsup.gif

It never ceases to amaze me the questions and statements new comers to Thailand can come up with.

Not being around that long myself 7 years I can't say as I remember all the party leaders and the military leaders going together to wish him a happy new year and discuss politics happening and what they hope for the new year/

I am suprised they didn't ask why Jutuporn and the pther red shirt leaders weren't there.

Was there a particular reason Thaksin sent his sister to do the job for him?

How is that for amazing questions and statements?wai2.gif

Normally they don't say much other than boring platitudes. The British pm meets the Queen of England once a week.

No one is expected to divulge what was discussed.

A pity she doesn't meet with them every week.------- But why then the press ??? but never mind I understand

Reporters were not allowed inside Gen. Prem′s house throughout talk, which lasted for about an hour and a half.

RT @RichardBarrow: The meeting between Prem and the PM & military chiefs only lasted 15 minutes (Via @WassanaNanuam) http://t.co/mGDQBtLcmn

What is the big who ha? Anyone that has lived here long enough knows this is a regular thing,

No different than the UK with the PM visiting the Queen.

What are you a parrot, no big hoo ha --I forgot with it being once a year, and not seeing it for a long time, I mean Queenie gets an audience once a week same same but different. No BIG who HA who rattled your cage---the other poster was reminding me that's all no big deal. if you read the posts on the point I explained my reason. BUT you came in with a snide... never mind, only been here 32 years How was I to know cheesy.gif
