It's a great place full of diverse opinion which makes for interesting and sometimes enlightened discussions and cram packed full of great Visa Information and specialist Forums, some of which, I'm sure will be right up your alley.

Yep, as you say, life is good.

Welcome and Enjoy

Hi there

just registered today, looking for advice and ideas as we want to move across later this year / early 2015 for a year to begin then see what occurs.

Quite like the sound of Hua Hin.

Would like Koh Samui but need a lottery win first.

Cheers.thumbsup.gif.pagespeed.ce.dtxKiAJ9C7.gif

Hello,

I am a new member who lives in Mexico but I am planning on moving to Chiang Mai. I moved to Mexico 3 years ago & although I like it here I am looking forward to living in Thailand. I will be very dependent on those of you who live there to help me with the many questions I will be asking. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for allowing me to join your forum, living in Korat with my girlfriend for 16 months now, love the place and love the people, followed the forum news on my ipad for a while and have enjoyed many of the topics, and bit the bullet as they say and decided to register.
I hope that I can through time contribute to the huge and diverse topics that are here.

Many thanks

Greetings to everyone! I believe I would be one of the few Thai nationals born and raised in the Kingdom who speaks English as their first language rather than their mother tongue (barring Thais who grew up/studied abroad). I have visited this forum from time to time to acquire information in English that would otherwise be very difficult for me to find. I hope to contribute to discussions in here to the best of my ability in the near future!

Hello! I was just introduced to this site two days ago and have been addicted ever since. My wife and I are contemplating living in Thailand once we retire.

I can relate to this statement I'm on the site when ever I get a spare minute.

Hi all,

I'm Mary & am from The land of OZ!

I have just joined on this forum a month now, as am heading to the LOS end of the year (2014) for a 4-5 week holiday with fiancé & my son who will turn 18 while over there.

So I'm just getting a feel for the country, soaking my brain with info trying to plan the best options for us & finding my feet!

It has been enjoyable, enlightening & a bit of an eye opener reading different 'topical' posts/threads... But it will NOT deter me from growing my wings & soaring like an eagle & landing on the soil in the LOS.

Yes...another over enthusiastic 'Farang newbie' who has no clue what's she getting herself into but hey...

IT ALL BUILDS CHARACTER I SAY!!!

Hi All,

I have just registered but have been using Thai Visa for all my news since arriving in country on retirement 2 years ago. I have settled in Kanchanaburi with my Thai wife but not before encountering a few problems to do with purchase of land and building a house. The last thing I needed was to be done in by an English CON-MAN who ripped me off and as I am a Vietnam veteran, passed himself off as a veteran of 4 conflicts stating that he would look after a fellow veteran. He wore 4 medals to an ANZAC Day service here in Kanchanaburi and after some checking up I have found out that he is not a veteran of any conflict, just a liar and a fraud.

I would like to know if anyone can confirm approx. how much does it cost to transfer at the Land Office a Nor Sor 3 Gor (Blue Book) for a block of land, from one Thai's name to another as this guy has charged me 70,000thb (not including tax) for the privilege, I am not the only one as others have been charged anywhere between 20,000 and 100,000thb for his wife to sign over the land to another farung's Thai wife. I was new to Thailand and did not know land prices etc. and was taken in by his smooth talking and believed what he said as the truth.

Greetings!

You guys have made this forum quite an inspiring place.

I'm from the other end of the world, Romania, but a regular tourist here and must say that I've found lots of useful information here. In many aspects, this forum was my guide.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers,

I welcome all newcomers to TV you need to remember a few things. Some trolls out there and some not very friendly warriors but if you need help and advice it the best place to come, you will find people who can help and advise you. We all think we know everything today and tomorrow? well now we do! Everyday we learn something new so make use of the help at hand that is out there on TV, if you have a problem think what it is and then post it.

Good luck, wherever you come from and do remember this is a different culture here, sometimes you need to stand back and take that it in no matter how stupid/different that might appear this is what you are opting for and some adaption might be required.
