That's not even the same model that we are talking about so it pretty much irrelevant what happened to it.

That's quite obvious not the same model you would have to be blind Freddy to notice that. Seemed like a short circuit it belonged to one of the Bangkok airways girls working at U-Tapao airport. photo from the airport car park.

Since this whole thread on the BT50 has been about the Ford Ranger it really does not matter that one more model is introduced.

Mate, I'm really trying my best to find anything on this subject on the UK and Australia forums but other than some complaints about a 1999 / 2000 Ranger I can't find.. I've had my share of problems with my Focus Getrag DCT and there are literally thousands of posts about this so I'm wondering how big of an issue this is.. BT-50 same story.

Iam only talking about the Ranger. everything I have said has been reported on the various ford forums (Australia and UK) and Ranger forums (Australia and UK).

Just google Mazda BT 50 problems. Here is one link to gearbox problem.

http://www.productreview.com.au/r/mazda-bt-50-2006-present/186921.html

That link dates from 2011

A different truck entirely. The current model was launched in 2012?

Crossover from J97 to P375 was 2011.

There are some happy owners of New Rangers and BT-50's,that must count for something IMO.....I'm personally very happy with mine, maybe because there is nothing better around ?!!...and the service in CM is no worse than Toyota's(and I've owned one HiLux before,so I know)....so,unless there is something serious to report, please stop this ridiculous crusade....those dealerships are run buy people(!) and that's what makes a difference...they can do a good job...or they can just be a....well,you name it whistling.gif

I agree 100%.

Now try Honda Pattaya, what a bunch of <deleted>(office staff), no hellos, no thank you, you were just a pain in the ass for them.

After we sold our Honda City they kept calling my wife and told her the car is overdue for service. My patient wife told them 3 or 4 times that we sold it and none of our business anymore and they have finally stopped calling.

I went to Mazda Pattaya and asked for a test ride in a BT50 and 15 min later we were out on the road in it and they were polite too.

When I come to Ford Pattaya for service of the Ranger the sales lady that sold us the truck always comes and says hello and talk to us.

How competent they are are a complete different matter, some outlets have good staff and some not so good.

The AC in my ex Honda started to get worse and worse (loosing gas I think) so I went to Honda for service and with this AC problem. The AC worked very well for 2 weeks after and then started fading away again, so I think they just topped up the gas and didn't find the small leak, well well.

Can you imagine how a nightmare it must be if you have say a Ferrari, LOL.

Lets hope the Thai Airways airplane mechanics are better trained than the car mechanics, tampering with their Boeing and Airbus fleet are only for very high skilled/trained persons, I wonder if they have expats overseeing things? Okay I know you can't compare but it is the mentality I am worried about=don't give a shit, lol.

Did you bother to read post #21 were I stated of all the problem I have heard about they only make up for a tiny percentage of vehicles sold. ?

But hey if you want to bury your head in the sand and continue on in the belief the vehicles are perfect and nothing goes wrong well then more power to you.

I actually want to know about problems with those trucks (read posts #4,#8 etc),but besides posting, that you've heard about them, you never produced any details.I guess, you work in the industry,so you're probably the one who should know....don't take it the wrong way,but I and sure the other owners also are serious about it.

As mentioned before, the service sometimes suck...and that is not only in auto industry, but with everything else...IMO....if there is a truck/car around without any problems,I for sure would like to know...for now this one works OK...where is the wood?..knock,knock smile.png

Stevenl, let the 2 Fordies Battle it out. Dont forget someone thought the Ford to be the best of all trucks here.. Funcat I. Spoonman. 0 at half time.biggrin.png .

I dont give a shit if funcat was 11tybillion and me zero. the simple fact remains these vehicles (same as every other vehicle on the road) has problems, some expensive some not. some covered by warranty most not. All that I have heard about I have listed. take that anyway you want because I just know you will twist it to suit your own feeble mind.

As for your smart comment about the best truck, I bought one because we modify them (40,000 over the past 7 years) so by getting in early and owning one I get all the developmental fruit that comes out of the business I work for.

AoP,most of the 'native' English speaking TV members are having problems understanding your posts......English is my second(or third) language,so don't expect much from me...I can get some of your insinuations, but still...<deleted>...

....it's a game for you,but you don't bring much to the table.....

....for some reason you hate Ford...

...you are not into trucks....

...you hate diesels....

...'fun' cars are toooo expensive...

...can't get your legs into Mazda 3...

...etc,etc....etc

...so,why are you here?

Im disappointed with Ford here ,as are many folk.Nearly everyone has fond memories of a Ford. I love Trucs when used for a purpose, a passager car looks stupid full of Mellons.Im a Honda fan because its a limeted choise here, the best of a poor crop.To Me its light entertainment here , for some its not.As for T.A. hes the only one whos got a balanced truck and doesent think its a Lambo. Cant get in a 2 Funcat, but i will get a new 3 soon, then wait to see if the new BM is any good, and that will be my last Car here.An Expert has allready told me its no good, how he knows ,F Knows. It aint here yet. Let the Truckies Split Hairs.

Okay you are a non Ford owner and you are disappointed with them, can you tell me how that is possible when you don't even own one????

I am a Ford owner and I am NOT disappointed at all, odd eh.

Our Ranger is the only 4 wheeled vehicle in the household so my wife also drive the Ranger and she loves it and uses it everyday for taking our son to school and pick him up again. She don't like to park it in cramped parking spaces and I tend to agree with her on that, only minus with the vehicle really.

Been to Bangkok in it and on Koh Chang and I enjoyed the ride each time and did 140 km/h when conditions allowed and since I realize it's no Lambo (thanks for telling me), I don't mind if other cars overtakes me, even a Honda, LOL.

We got a 3.2 BT50 last Oct. and very happy with truck and service from Mazda.

56 posts in the thread, and this is about the 5th one that has anything to do with the OP's question.

I think, that the OP has actually decided to buy a Ranger....giggle.gif
