Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung will arrive in Cambodia on Sunday for a three-day state visit, the Foreign Ministry said yesterday.

While here, he is set to attend a bilateral investment conference, the inauguration of a hospital and the groundbreaking of the Chrey Thom-Long Binh Bridge which will link Vietnam’s An Giang province with Kandal.

He will also meet with King Norodom Sihamoni, Senate President Chea Sim and Prime Minister Hun Sen.

The visit comes after Hun Sen’s December visit to Hanoi, where he held separate talks with Dung and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

Earlier this month Heng Samrin, president of the National Assembly, also visited Vietnam.

Cambodia National Rescue Party spokesman Yim Sovann said he welcomed the visit but urged that talks address mutual interests.

Otherwise, he warned, people may “think that the ruling party is still the underling of Vietnam both economically and politicallyâ€.
