Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep and Ramkhamhaeng have delayed exams; Pathumwan Institute of Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok's Chakrab-ongse campus, and Bangkok University will close for two days from tomorrow. Lite Beer Posted January 12, 2014 Author Share Posted January 12, 2014 Opinion poll says Bangkok Shutdown will lead to political changes BANGKOK: -- A substantial portion of people in Bangkok and its peripheries believe that the Bangkok Shutdown operation will lead to political changes but, at the same time, they want the protests to end quickly, said Suan Dusit Poll on Sunday. The Suan Dusit Poll of Suan Dusit Rajabhat University conducted an opinion poll to gauge the opinions of 1,344 people living in Bangkok and its peripheries during January 9-11 about the shutdown which is due to start on Monday.Regarding the shutdown, the poll results are as follows: 34.88 percent believe that incident will lead to political changes; 24.28 percent believe the incident will impact all Thais and all businesses; 21.85 percent believe that traffic in the capital will become paralysed that travelling will be impossible; 10.38 percent believe people have the right to join the protests but they must obey the law and 8.61 percent are concerned that the shutdown may lead to violence.Asked how they are prepared to cope with the situation, the results are as follows: 31.23 percent said they accept whatever will happen; 23.68 percent said they would keep abreast with the situation through the media; 20.15 percent said they would have to spare more time for travelling due to traffic woes: 14.11 percent said they might take leave to join the protests; 10.83 percent said they would stock up food and water and prepared cash in hand.Asked about what they will do on Monday; 28.55 percent said they would keep abreast with the situation through the media; 26.75 percent said that they would take leave; 21.01 percent said they would carry on with their normal life; 17.04 percent said they might join the protest or observe the protests.
