Planning a minimum 6 month trip to thailand. I am from the USA.

1. I have a 2 year contract with At&t with a galaxy note 3 phone. What options do I have to avoid huge international phone bills? Love mobile Internet, this phoen and want to call my children. I can cancel contract for 500usd. Advice?

2. Any restrictions with steam? (Steampowered.com). Purchasing? Downloading?

3. Big gamer. I have been told Internet speeds from 10-100 mbps. Opinions on top 3 cities/towns with fasted Internet speeds? Or just luck?

Thank you I am downloading app now. I think best option would be to cancel my contract once I arrive as I pay 100 usd a month anyways. I may end up staying longer or going to a different country anyways. I guess I was hoping that at&t offered local service or something.
