Get yourself a kindle Sent from my GT-I9500 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app Nothing like the heft and smell of a real book but have to agree the Kindle or iPad have the brnefit of backlit pages which are nice for older eyes. My favorite used bookstore is DASA Books around Sukhumvit 32, or thereabouts.

rott
It is being a bit optimistic to look for an English language bookshop in small-town Thailand. Chang Mai and Bangkok your only realistic options. Don't forget that besides the retailers Bangkok also has the excellent Neilson Hayes library. A monthly or bi-monthly weekend away / stocking up trip to the big city can help you more appreciate life in the country.
