His son is in court next week for dodgy land deals in samui the family are as corrupt as the shin family was speaking with my accountant yesterday she had got a new phone number I asked her why after 8 years had she changed her number her reply the shin family own AIS so I do not want to give them my money so she has moved over to D / TAC even tho she knows and admits the reception is terrible I suggested she should keep her AIS number as she could loose a lot of business by all the missed calls especially as the financial year reports are due in the next month or two over the last month she has stated that she. As I posted in another thread yesterday, my wife came home last night and told me that her and some of her co-workers (who all work for a major insurance company) were having dinner. Their table was approached by a man who smiled and spoke to them, offering them 2,000 baht a day to travel from CM to BKK to join the protests. One of the women stood up and loudly stated - "Yellow shirt trying to buy protesters" - at which point the man ran out of the restaurant, jumped in his car and sped away. My wife is NOT in the habit of lying or making up stories, and was laughing when she told me. So, please, don't bother trying to tell me that the protesters aren't being "recruited" and paid. Probably the same guy buying protesters during 2010...I kid you not! You could be right. lol. But my wife said she's never seen anyone move as fast as this guy did when one of her friends "outted" the guy. P>S> My wife and her friends are all die hard reds. An Isaan farmer friend told me that PDRC have had paid agents combing the countryside to find people willing and able to attend the demonstration in Bangkok . People would be paid to attend and transported to Bangkok and back . A demonstration on this scale , the ranks swelled by paid peasants , stages , tents , transport , you name it , must have an enormous cost . Suthep and other leaders may have sold land and houses , but it is my belief that there are elite behind the scene who have been financing this project . Whoever is behind the scene is also the reason why Suthep won't be arrested and if he were , he would be instantly bailed . A friend of my brothers uncle told my dad and my dad told me that Taksin is paying 10000 baht per day for flowers in his hotel room in Dubai. He is also paying 2000 baht per day to every poster on here who posts his red propaganda all over the forum. My comment has just as much truth as yours. Proof or shut up ! I am so sick of people trying to discredit the protests with this 'protestors are being paid' crap. There hasn't been a shred of proof as yet. Show us your proof or stop spreading the lies please... Client of mine, owns a factory in NST staff attended rally a few weeks ago on a sunday when factory is closed, all got 400 bht. about 60 of them bus laid on fed and returned. Got asked again this week same deal but this time have to go to a meeting point for bus, apparently some are going but some have been told by others ( you know how it goes ) they wont get paid when they get there so most havnt made up their minds if they are going or not. They will go to the meeting point probably and see from there. Another client, Kanchanaburi paid his own workers full salary for 2 days to go up with him when the big rally was on a few weeks ago out of his own pocket just the bus laid on. Take it or leave it as true or not i couldnt care less, normal people do not have the funds to cross the country and back all the time, buy a tent or pay for a bed, eat and lose working pay to stay in BKK. They are being subsidised at the lest and some paid on their days off. I personally know in bangers some that pop into sites just to eat for free or join for a bit of entertainment from music etc no big deal but they couldnt care less about the actual protest. If i had to guess id say about 50% get some kind of financial incentive that are coming from outside bangers, not all getting cash some are just having a free trip and outing laid on but again they arnt having to pay to get there or return, eating for free and drinks laid on, its a day or weekend fun trip. That is a far cry from people paying out of their own pocket to protest.Dosnt mean everyone is im sure they arnt but youll just have to suck it up that some are, Dosnt take anything away from the many who are there for nothing and giving their time after work etc TIT and you want to get stuff done mostly you have to pay, its as simple as that. OH PS one MAJOR thing that is having an effect on the numbers dropping imo and thats the lack of facilities to take a shower, toilets np theres loads of options but washing is a problem and change of clothes Thais dont like being dirty, especially women who make up a large % that come up from the south. Costs are spiralling because the funds got frozen and the gimmicks have already been bought now and the donations for setting it up used. From here on its more personal donations by backers or the public and thats also why you see bluesky whining about the whistle they want the money for the channel or movement and not traders making off it. Every day is sucking the baht up and a part of me wants then to stay just to cost the money players more of their cash for nothing. Those Large TVs are made up of a couple of hundred LCD panels. I see these small panels for sale in the electrical markets near china town. You buy MANY of the pieces and they all jigsaw together to make as large-a-screen as you require. But the price of these panels is not so high. a computer controls the graphics. I really cant see how they can be 2,000 quid a day! I imagine they are less than 20,000 pounds to buy!!! ok,, maybe a western or japanese brand may more more costly. but we are in thailand!! this is not a plasma TV or specialist thing. its a jigsaw puzzle of mini LCD panels. anyway,,, maybe I am wrong, but seems like some charges are OVER what the actual cost may be? unless people are 'skimming' money from the costs ? Spending 10 million plus a day cannot be kept up as the yellows haven't actually gained any new victories lately, therefore "believers" will lose the faith and go home, as sleeping outside on the concrete roads must be extremely unpleasant, especially for the older folks. Also many have yet to realize the PM cannot simply walk off the job, and that Suthep is talking nonsense with his proposed "people's council" idea, as these things just cannot happen in the real world. My wife and I who live in Buriram province was in the local Toyota dealer yesterday for a service and my wife over heard a Thai convesation where it was stated that 2,000B a day was being offerered for new people to join the protest as they were not getting the numbers hoped for. My wife was so astonished by this and kept listening in to the convesation, not that it was hard as like most Thais the man was talking very loudly. and this amount was repeated, to confirm what she first heard. Which incident are you referring to??? Do you pay capital gain tax??? The rule change is to benefit the industry not just himself. What would be the industry like if he didn't. It was just happened that he was already in the business before he join politics. My question is why others who equally benefited did not have their assets seized. Did they pay capital gain tax too? Given that this is a movement that states openly that its objective is to bring down the government, that seems a risky thing for them to do - for both themselves and an expat forum.
