Renewal Retirement Visa in Bangkok

Featured Replies

I have recently moved from North East Thailand to Bangkok and am due to renew my retirement visa in a couple of months.

In the past, when I have renewed my visa (now my third renewal) I have only had to supply a Declaration from the Australian Embassy stating what my monthly income is as I do not hold 800k in a Thai Bank account.

I have heard that all the Immigration offices apply different rules. I was wondering if any of the forum members could give me an idea if Bangkok Immigration only require the Embassy Declaration and the completed forms or will they request a copy of my bank statements from my Australian Bank showing the income for past three months?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

The income statement is usually enough, but you should be prepared to show evidence of your income. it doesn't happen often, but sometimes they do want to check if you really have that income. A pension statement or such should do it.
