What's going to happen after the voting?

Featured Replies

So, as per rules, this is not anything to do with politics[1]. It's been a bit of a bugbear with me these past few weeks though and I wonder how other similarly hitched forumites will deal with the situation...

The skinny: I'm figuring my Wife may be one of the group of people who will exercise their right to vote in the up coming elections (if they go ahead). I'm pretty sure she's adamant she will do so, along with the other members of her family. We also have a number of neighbours who may decide to boycott the vote, as is their right too - but after seeing the news of the polling stations being barricaded and voting not being possible - I've started to think about the aftermath. I mean, she may get stopped/whistled at/verbally taunted by her neighbours - people we've known and lived with spending happy times together for years - and then this rift happens. I fear it's something that will tear communities apart for a long time to come.

Just wondering if others have paused to think about "Votemageddon" and it's sad impact on otherwise tight knit communities (let's hope it does not come to the best Jok saleswoman refusing to serve you - but it may)....
