Pattaya Students rally for Peace ahead of Thai General Election

PATTAYA:--On Wednesday Night on Pattaya Beach a group of around 50 Pattaya Students took part in a rally to ask for peace ahead of the Thai General Election on Sunday.

The Students placed candles on the promenade close to the Central Pattaya Road intersection and asked for peace to be restored and both parties to resolve their differences before Sunday so those who wish to exercise their democratic right and vote, can do so without fear of violence.

Ironically Police had to intervene when an unknown woman, thought to be a Thai national, began to hurl abuse in the direction of the group.

...an unknown woman, thought to be a Thai national, began to hurl abuse in the direction of the group.

...and some of the students began to contemplate turning the peaceful rally into something that may see acts of criminality take place.

Not really about peace then, is it?

This must be another example of the "Thai Middle Way".
