E-visa Cambodia to Chantanaburi Border, does it work, less line up?

Featured Replies

I want to drive down to Cambodia for a visa run, I believe it's called something like this:

"Ban Laem, Chantaburi, Thailand/Daun Lem, Battambang"

Now the agencies tell me the cost for the Cambodian visa is 1400 baht....

But the government will sell me a visa for $25, 822 baht, an e-visa:

http://evisa.mfaic.gov.kh/

Will that e-visa work or will they try to extort more money out of me?

Will the e-visa reduce the line up?

How late in the evening can I cross back and forth?

It does help cut down on the line the touts from reports I have read. Also there is no full page visa sticker put in your passport.

But if you look at website you posted a link to Ban Laem is not a e-visa location.

Only Poi Pet and Hat Lek are e-visa crossings.

Hi Unbujoe,

Thanks for the very quick advice. Actually I just noticed the chart under with cities that accept them.

For the scenic route, is Poipet ok versus Chantaburi, they seem to be about the same distance?

Are the line ups slower in poipet than Chantaburi?

Is it faster to get the e-visa or simply pay at the border?

Both Ban Laem and Palin will have shorter lines for visas and etc. than Poi Pet.

If you go to one of them getting the visa will be less a problem than Poi Pet from reports I have seen.

Thanks,

So what about the Visa fees?

Chantanaburi is apparently 1300 baht, Poipet is $20 ( I had a buddy go there last week)

How much are Ban Laem and Palin fees? I will be travelling alone without an agency.

Additionally, for what time should I aim to hit the borders to reduce line ups?
