BenCrew
If you have a good Internet connection, the best bets for reliable viewing are UKTV and 365 Sport who will both have live coverage of the World Cup.

ToddWeston
We have True & CTH, the rep from CTH said we "should" be able to watch however I wasn't convinced. I have a back up plan just in case with Tunnel Bear and watching the CBC from Canada however my Internet is not always the best and I'd really like to record a few games. Next I will need to figure out the times of the games next to watch local time, I'll wait until the time change happens otherwise I'll be very confused http://touch.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/index.html

Astro sports and fox sports, premier league , and astro will have the World Cup also . It needs a 4 meg download as runs off the internet. Perfect. Has all the HD channels etc also, the only choice really.

Bkklocal
Hi tmaker, it's one off price of 349us, it gets shipped to your door by dhl, includes one year subscription fee which is 70us a year to renew , Yeah with out a doubt one of the best buys I have found in Thailand in 7 years of been here - so much so I finally registered on here to share it. It's just a box, plug in your internet cable in to it.an HD wire or RCA connects to your tv. It's what a lot of the bars use locally here. Quality is excellent. I can always show anyone living close bkk university . No worries. My friends in Australia just bought one also, works great there , here Singapore, - a lot of the channels have Chinese subtitles like duck dynasty re- runs or movies - but not on live channels. BBC , all the news HD channels, discovery nation geo HD all of those. Seriously any one thinking about anything else - and my circle has all been there - forget it. Just get a cheap true internet service with 4 meg download, and this. Game over . We all had true visions till they lost the matches , could not watch Man U ,so one of us found this, is what we have all been using .

ferguston
The World Cup broadcast rights for Thailand are held by a company called RS. Games can be viewed using their Sunbox and PSI set top boxes. Read here:- http://www.nationmultimedia.com/sports/RS-to-show-64-live-matches-on-2-channels-Pornpan-30212873.html However they are currently in dispute with the Broadcast Regulator which is stipulating all matches should be free-to-air. Read here:- http://www.insideworldfootball.com/world-football/asia/12429-thai-regulator-insists-all-world-cup-finals-games-must-broadcast-free-to-air Watching over the internet has its drawbacks - buffering, switching between matches, etc.
Bkklocal
Cablestreamer.com is a premium service with servers lcated in Bkk, and Australia, - I hardley doubt I anyone would bother if it had buffering problems. In about 100 hours, you may experience a pause of seconds. Thats been the experience so far, the benefits are you can use it any where you travel with good internet, no overcast stormy weather conditions is gogin to knock off the signal as experienced with many satellite options. HD chanels are great. You can not compare this is to internet broswer based tv streaming from overseas or a service that constantly buffers like you tube. Espeically with the bottlenecks of international bandwidth here in Bangkok. For this to work, it has to have local servers, which is why it works great. Just had to share feel fee to bring me a beer and check it out.

hhiser
If you use an aerial that is true, at least it was for the Euros. But if you are using a satellite provider other than the one with the broadcast rights then you could not watch it on the free-to-air channels. As this is streaming off the internet, why on earth would you need a satellite box? There are other companies offering pretty much the same service, stream directly to laptop, HDMI cable to the telly. Not as many channels, but really, how many channels are there in English language. Seems like a waste of money to me, although I stand to be corrected. Your posts sound very much like like marketing spiels. Just sayin'..............

cashpower
I heard they were going to have 'watching paint dry' as the half-time entertainment but they canned that idea because it is more exciting than the main event
