Air Asia News - Thai Long Haul Approved

Featured Replies

two aircraft multiple routes....will it be like Bangladesh Biman used to be if there was ever a delay....Impossible to catch up with 2 planes.

Good news indeed, been using AA Bkk-Melb for a number of years now and the KL stop over

in a dreg and time wasting.. can't wait, I be the first to book a flight DMK-Melb direct...

Agreed, the more options the better. But, was surpised to see Air Asia X pull out of London and Paris a few years back - not sure why the can't make money on these routes.

Have the first destinations been announced?

Good news....and another nail in the coffin of Thai Airways.

A low cost airline is desperately needed Bangkok - Sunshine Coast . Many Brisbane North passengers find Coolangatta just a little too far.

This airport already flys international.

Great if it turns out better than the London,Paris,Christchurch and Delhi routes that ended up shafting many folk .

Allot comes down to airport management as well. Alot of marchoocies new traffic is mining FIFO that cant get into BN in a timely manor, not the airport management seeking new traffic, they have a reputation of being difficult compared to most places wanting arrivals and making money from fees.

I do agree that OOL is to far for you though.

Well, I'm hoping they come to Sydney, with an early morning landing slot opening up when Virgin Atlantic pulls out of HKG - SYD mid-year.

Melbourne is already very well serviced by LCCs - compare the number of Jetstar International flights out of Sydney and Melbourne, plus Melbourne still gets Royal Brunei. And the Sunny Coast ... wouldn't hold my breathe.
