Non-Imm O visa expires this October 2014, then, with one year extension, again next year October (October 2015). But, U.S. Passport expires in June 2015. It seems prudent to renew passport before October 2014 in order to obtain a complete 1-year visa extension.

Can U.S. Passport be renewed early - before Oct 2014? At least nine months in this case.

Yes. My passport expires May 2015 I'm renewing it next month for the reason your giving. No problems.

The embassy told me a US Passport can be renewed anytime. I started the renewal process for mine 9 months before expiration.

Check out their website....it is pretty informative (and you can make an appointment so you don't have to wait around). I renewed mine a while back and it was about 8 or 9 months before it expired....no problem to do it early.

My passport was due to expire in May 2014. My visa renewal is due in Oct. I wanted to do my 2013 renewal in a new passport. I submitted for a new passport in Sept and received it in time for my visa renewal in Oct. Passport renewed 8 months early.

The USA embassy told me a month ago no time limit on when you can renew a passport, otherwrds anytime you want.
