BANGKOK, Feb 10 – The state-owned Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) will join hands with the private sector to set up five new industrial estates in the eastern provinces to cope with the country’s industrial expansion.

IEAT president Vitoon Simachokedee said the five estates, which will be wholly invested and developed by the private sector, will cover a total area of 8,719 rai (3,487 acres) and Bt309 billion in investment, create at least 120,000 jobs, and contribute to growth in related industries.

Four of the five projects are located in the seaboard province of Chon Buri. They include Pin Thong Industrial Estate Projects 4 and 5, and the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate Projects 2 and 3.

The fifth project is Hemaraj Rayong 36 Industrial Estate in Rayong province. (MCOT online news)

Sounds good.

They should join hands with the Road Works department and expand the highways for large cargo and construction vehicles.

#7 from BKK to Pattaya around the Lam Chabang turn off area in particular.

Correct.......also expand and maintain the railway system, still in it's infantry state, and not seek to introduce high speed useless projects.

Look......... over there.

No doubt theyre getting ready for the influx of Burmese workers over the next several years.

Where i live in Bangkok most of the outdoor site workers are Burmese.

Thai men sit around on motorbikes.

Just another way of destroying the environment to fill the pockets of greedy business owners...

Well, if this poltical BS drags on much longer, they'll be empty industrial estates.

Proper studies have been done to make sure they're all on low ground to catch rainwater runoff, yes?

waiting for yingluck to open some stuff in essaan... so their voters can go to work if it is not in the rice business

They can't even fill the industrial estates they have now!

Why build more?

Then again, maybe they could use them to store rice.
