Ford Ranger (Double Cab Hi-Rider 2.2L XLT, 2013) SOT -> ISO Adapter

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've pretty much given up on trying to find a local shop to install my Parrot ASTEROID Tablet, and decided to give it a go myself. After successfully plugging everything in, I discovered that the SOT->ISO adapter I ordered (the SOT-984 - supposed to be for Ranger > 2012) does not seem to be the correct one. So, my question is - has anyone integrated any kind of after-market device into their Ford Ranger's stereo, and if so, can you tell me which ISO-SOT adapter you used? A part number/code should suffice - I'll most likely need to order online (unless of course, Ford dealers miraculously stock them, in which case, I guess this whole post is moot!).

Thanks for any information.

I had a Parrot phone kit / media player installed in a PJS a few years ago. Same as you, the SOT ISO adapter did not fit because the Mitsu plugs were not the same as the plugs the SOT adapter. The SOT adapter is a jumble of wires and I did not have much confidence an auto elec would be able to replace and rewire the plugs correctly. I also did not want to mangle the car harness by splicing in the Parrot SOT so ended up putting the Parrot through the head units line in which works fine. This only needed a ground and power supply to the parrot and the interrupt or mute signal to the head unit.

I gave up on the SOT adapters because there seems to be many versions of electrical system for the same model car in different markets. The web sites selling the SOT adapters say they fit specific models but..... they lie. Mitsu had no idea about any of this and I would be surprised if Ford sell SOT adapters.

Any way good luck with your parrot. Mine works well enough apart from the voice recognition struggling with the pronunciation of Thai names.
