Visa for Non-Thai baby born in Thailand

Featured Replies

hi there,

I'm staying in Thailand with 1 year visa and a work permit. my son was born in Thailand. Im aware that he doesnt need a visa as long as he stays in thailand without going out of the country. as far as i know, if he leaves Thailand, he will need to apply for a visa at Thai embassy in the home country before going back to thailand. is it possible for him for him to apply for a visa in prior leaving thailand? or it has to be done at thai embassy in our home country?

thanks for ur help.

It is not possible to obtain a visa for the baby in Thailand.

Whether you have to return home to get a visa depends upon which country you are from.

Per above, it is not possible.

The child must first leave Thailand and you must show the Thai birt certificate, that explains why there is no immigration record of the child. Than you can apply for a visa for the child abroad.
