Hi i was wondering if anyone know about Thai customs laws in regards to bringing in knives in your checked baggage (not carry on ) i'm wanting to bring in a small 9 inch Parang knife, but i'm not to sure if i'm allowed to or not. Has anyone else had experience of bringing through a knife at CNX?

Hello,

Absolutely no problem at all. I've always carried a pocket knife (ever since I was a small school boy) and I am also a frequent biz traveller. I always toss my knife in my check baggage before my flights. No issues in Chiang Mai, or anywhere else in the world for that matter.

Thanks Mestizo, my main concern comes from the fact the knife is 9" so although its not massive its a good bit bigger than a pocket knife so i'm kind of unsure if it allowed
