Good luck.

Why are you limiting yourself to HIV+ women?

Thank you so much.

I think HIV - women will not accept me and they may discriminate against me.I don't have the initiative when facing them and I choose give it up.

Maybe all of these were my suspicion.

But one thing is certain that I do not want to infect my woman/wife with HIV.

Perhaps people will say YOU CAN USE THE CONDOMS.

But I really want our babies.

Why would you infect them? I know plenty of serodiscordant couples. Now you are on meds your Viral load should drop to undetectable. And You still can have babies with a HIV- woman. You sound VERY uneducated and defeatist about HIV, maybe it is from where you live. Educate yourself.

These all were your suspicion.

Be positive my friend. Its a chronic illness now like having diabetes. check out that link i sent posted or poz.com etc.http://www.bluelight.org/vb/threads/690158-The-HIV-Megathread

Hi Kevin

Just been reading your post, and i do feel for you with your current situation, As for medication for yourself in Thailand , like the other posts have said, ''The Red Cross'' would be a good start, if not, they could point you in the right direction..

As for finding a ''Partner'' i am sure you will find someone , who will love you and be there for you 24/7, like wise you would do the same for her too..

Sorry to hear that you lost your job, but you sound upbeat which is a great attitude..

Thailand and Thai people are very accepting of most things, which is one of the reasons i live here, everyone just gets on with it, ...

All i can say is Look after yourself, and remeber its 2014 , there is so much Technology and Medication out there, and its getting better every day.

All the best, please keep us posted with the outcome.... BE STRONG....

Cheers

Robert

Hi Robert,

I'm reading your reply with tears.I suffered a lot of things in these two years and I have no one to talk to.Discrimination can happen anywhere and anytime here. It's extremely hard for AIDS patients to seek legal help in China, and there have been several court cases over AIDS employment discrimination, the claimant failing to win in all of them.

As you said it's 2014 and maybe we can be saved in the next ten years.Who knows.

Finding a partner is difficult here because of the gender imbalance. It's terrible to live alone 24/7 till the life ends.Oh please forgive my sentimental.

Thank you again for what you have said.

Best Regards

Kevin

That is so moving. Wish you a lot of strength and support Kevin.

Obviously you have HIV, not AIDS, and its terrible that companies would discriminate in this way and that there is no recourse for you regarding losing your job.

Most people are still very ignorant about HIV.

Hopefully one day there will be more awareness and hopefully it will also be curable.

Take care Kevin, and hope you find what you are looking for both in terms of treatment and a loving partner.

Unfortunately the job discrimination exists in Thailand as well. I know of cases where employees were let go when they were found to have HIV. It is common for companies to test potential employees and if they turn up HIV + they will not get a job. I have a friend in this situation now and suffering depression as he can't find a job even with a Master's Degree. Thailand is not much different than China in that regard. The Red Cross Clinic has been a great asset for those with HIV. Fortunately my friend is on a good regimen from the public health service and other than the stress of unemployment he is doing ok. Good luck to you Kevin. I don't know how long you have been taking the medications but the body does adjust to most of them over time. While you might be able to buy medication in Thailand you want to be sure that you have continuing access to the same medications. Getting medications from Thailand and then running out and having to go to your local clinic for a different medication is not good. Many people in Thailand have had trouble with nausea or drowsiness when first taking medications but it gradually goes away. There are probably more and new medications available in Thailand but unless you have a continuing source of these I suggest you stay with what the doctors in China are giving you as you have access. Watch the CD4 and viral load tests for improvement. I know this is a difficult situation for you and you are not alone. My Thai friend feels alone, lost, and unwanted. He gets pressure from his parents so he feels at odds with them which does not help his situation. Fortunately his sisters are supportive. All I can say is to hang in there. Obviously there are a lot of good people who have posted information for you and are hoping for the best for you. Take care.

What jobs in Thailand want a HIV test?

HIV testing of employees is not permitted, according to the Ministry of Labour’s Code of Practice on Prevention and Management of HIV/AIDS in the Establishment. Section 5.1.1 states that there can be no requirement for testing for HIV/AIDS or any request for certification of whether a person is HIV-positive or negative as part of the screening of job applicants and employees or as part of the employment conditions.

It surprise me that you need a prescription.....is it true?

You can buy the craziest things, painkiller, valium, viagra, antibiotics, all the hormones and steroids freely without prescription but not HIV medication.

Really? (I never tried, but it surprise me and doesn't seem logic).

I don't know where you're buying genuine Valium and Viagra (US) made because from my experience I haven't been able to buy Valium in Thailand for many years now. Please state your source!

Actually I am not sure if the TRC will accept a script from a doctor out of country or not, has anyone tried this?

I have enquired with them directly and it was their answer

Are you saying that the TRC will accept a non Thai doctors prescription ?

Which country are you from and exactly which medication are you suggesting can be provided against a non Thai prescription.

I am pushing here because providing false or inaccurate information could bring disappointment to many .

I would like to confirm that only doctors licensed by the Medical Council of Thailand are allowed to prescribe treatment and medication here so I think the TRC would not accept a non Thai prescription as it would be against regulations. I have seen non-Thai doctors treat and prescribe medication in Thailand but they would have to do it under the supervision of a doctor licensed by the Medical Council which would make that doctor legally liable.

Hello Kevin my name is Scott from The HIV Foundation Thailand. Our organisation runs a free service that helps people with HIV to access the health system and to get the treatment they need. In our current service we provide support to both Thai people and others from neighbouring countries. We walk through the health system with people with HIV and accompany them to appointments as they need them. We do this because the Thai health system is so complicated and many people get very confused about how to get what they need. Many people on this stream have suggested the Thai Red Cross and this is a great idea but yes you will need a prescription from Dr here first.

Some of us at the foundation also have HIV ourselves and so if you call us you can be sure that you are with friends who will understand and help you. When you come to Bangkok call us on 026340541 and if you like you can ask for me directly. Unfortunately we can't help you find a girlfriend but I'm sure you can sort that problem out for yourself! Best wishes, Scott.

Well done Scott, thanks for getting in touch with Kevin, i am sure you have lifted his hopes big time..

as for the Girlfriend, i am sure he will find some loving Thai girl ..

Once again, Hats off to you...

Wow... I never thought things could be so tough...

Let me know and I can work on a HIV dating site if its ever needed.

Respect !

It's great.I can do something for that such as offer the server based on php and mysql(or asp).

I know a little bit about nginx or ubuntu or windows serve 2003.

A HIV dating site is really needed in China but we'd better make a multi-language site although it will take us much time on that.(And at the very beginning we can start with English version)

Or if you have any idea please reply me.

Please keep in touch!

I would just like to add that my answer is based on the general medical-legal aspect of prescribing medication in Thailand. If the TRC gave an answer that it might be possible to prescribe medication from a non-Thai prescription I think it could be based on their trying to be accommodating as they want to encourage people who SEEK HELP to come to them without fear of judgement or have to worry too much about bureaucracy or regulations.

Actually we shouldn't worry too much about the legal aspect of prescriptions because eventually having a licensed doctor evaluate you by the TRC should not be a big issue in terms of costs or cause any delay in treatment.

TRC does have a doctor available, at least on some days, to prescribe for those who cannot afford to see one privately but that doctor is overworked and it is preferred that those with the means to do so see a private doc first. Possibly their doctor will automatically countersign orders from a doc abroad, I don't know. Worst case si they tell you to come back with a script from a Thai doctor.

If you do need to see a doctor in Thailand (and it might not be a bad idea to get a second opinion on your drug regiment etc) I highly recommend Dr. Asda at Bumrungrad http://www.bumrungrad.com/en/search-for-a-thailand-doctor

My diary:Thurday,Sunny

It's Thursday and things doesn't getting better as I expected.

I tried finding girls from international positive dating sites and Thai dating sites and I think they are very very complex to use.I am not a gold member that I can not even say hello to person I’m interested in.Girls who saw my personal information(HIV+)gave me no reply anymore.

It's ok.really.

I'm not cash so I'm not able to make all people to love me.I am just an ordinary man living with the damn HIV.I got the punishment I deserved.

I alway think of myslf as a pessimist.Pessimists may not be confident but they always have been given.People who are talking about self-respect, please tell me have you ever done any earth-shattering thing?I hope everyone to love with dignity, and I hope everyone to upgrade their life as well. You do not help others, that is your choice. But you have to understand other people's difficulties. If you were him.Can you do whatever you told him to do?

We do have our dreams but the hero is people who can achieve it.Reality is cruel, most of our dreams are broken.

I am a sincere person. If I feel painful and I will tell you that I’m painfu.I never pretend myself to be very happy and very powerful.Don't tell me sunshine always comes after rain.

I said just now,I am a pessimist.Maybe storm comes after rain. And I am not a heroism.I cried with tears and sometimes pessimistic.I'm not a hero, but I've always been real.

Keep fighting.wai.gif

That is so miserable!sad.png

This is my choice.whistling.gif

Are you serious?ohmy.png

ok this isn't the place, it's getting kind of sad and hard to understand especially with the bad English.

You have

a lot of things you need to work through in your own time. Can you seek counseling or talk to someone?

You have HIV so what?! It's not you you are more than that. Forget you have it. Avoid dating sites and meet real girls find some one nice take it slow, build emotions and feelings and then take it from there.

Or even forget dating for a while, remember no one can make you happy only yourself.

Forget the HIV for a while

PM if u want to talk

You seem to be going about this the wrong way, but it might just be something you need to work through...You are obviously in a very emotional fragile place at the moment...hope this time isn't too tough for you...don't do anything too stupid

We are all going to die here

If you are in Pattaya go to Bangkok Pattaya Hospital and see Dr Siriporn main building 3rd floor, their STD specialist. Excellent doctor and BHP works with the government to get the drugs cheap. The blood testing goes to Bangkok and takes 2 days for results. My Thai friends go there because there is no waiting and everything is confidential. The drugs would be free or low costs at the government hospital but a 90 day supply is only 8,200 baht including doctors fee at BHP which I can handle financially.
