advancebooking Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 I was planning on getting a colonoscopy in issan in a govt hospital and thus ask has anyone ever had one in a thai government hospital. I know that it will be substantially cheaper doing it in a govt hospital as opposed to one of the international hospitals in bkk. However, there are risks with all operations. If in the worst case scenario the dr accidently puts a hole in my colon then emergency surgery has to be performed. Its unlikely but you never know what can happen. Thanks for your opinion cheers
Sheryl Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 A lot depends on the level of government facility. I am not sure if provincial hospitals even do this (they do not have GI specuialists as a rule) but a regional hospital would be fine. In Issan, Koh Khaen University Hospital is the best bet.
