I was planning on getting a colonoscopy in issan in a govt hospital and thus ask has anyone ever had one in a thai government hospital.

I know that it will be substantially cheaper doing it in a govt hospital as opposed to one of the international hospitals in bkk. However, there are risks with all operations. If in the worst case scenario the dr accidently puts a hole in my colon then emergency surgery has to be performed. Its unlikely but you never know what can happen.

Thanks for your opinion

cheers

A lot depends on the level of government facility. I am not sure if provincial hospitals even do this (they do not have GI specuialists as a rule) but a regional hospital would be fine. In Issan, Koh Khaen University Hospital is the best bet.
