Thai on 1 year license.

Hi. A question came up in the motoring forum as to whether a 1 year temporary license was in fact a provisional license like most of us are familiar with back home. Provisional in the sense that it has restrictions on the driver. I know a Thai 1 year licenses don't have restrictions. I am just curious what a native or fluent Thai speaker would make of the Thai above the word "Temporary Motorcycle".

As far as I know, no restrictions on the driver.

No not as we know back home.

Anyway above the temporary motorcyle you wanted translated.

รถจักรยานยนต์ motorcycle
ส่วนบุคคล personal/private
period
ชั่วคราว temporary/provisonal

The last is where the confusion arises, temporary/provisonal (not premanent), translate as the context/situation demands.

In this case i would go with temporary as is written in English.
