Amazon dot com, ebay and personal goods shipping from USA to Thailand?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just recently moved to Bangkok from Dallas, USA and I am a newbie to this community.

I'm looking for a way to ship my personal goods to from USA to here...You all know USPS are way too expensive and I don't know anything about shipping company or Thailand's custom regulation. I guess my question is, is there any local company in Bangkok that offers such service.

Also, I would like to order a lot of things from amazon or ebay. Some of the things are cheaper in the US. However, I intended to have Amazon ship to my friend's address in the US and somehow have him ship them to Thailand with USPS. I guess my question is, is there any import duties for small stuff from amazon like clothing and books?

Thanks smile.png

First of all, welcome to Thailand.

I do offer a shipping service from US, UK and China to Thailand for expats. It is THB600 per kg.

This includes all the import duties. Don't want this to sound like a sells ad or a spam so, just send me a message for detail.

To answer the OP, yes, just about ANYTHING sent into Thailand can incur duties, often worth more than the goods themselves.

However if they're unwrapped, manuals etc sent separately made to look as much as possible like a jumble of second-hand household items and sent cheapest surface post without insurance or at least a low declared value, chances are pretty good they'll get through.

Sent by courier (FedEx, DHL etc) you WILL pay crazy duties.

Best is in luggage of someone coming in.

Hi and welcome to Thailand

I get many things shipped over from Australia and put it in my Wife's thai name written in Thai. Not one time has we lost anything and never get custom charges.

Hope this helps

Good luck
