Strange creature in apartment

Featured Replies

Id been hearing the sound of something pinging against my wooden floor for a while, today I got up and moved my suitcase to find a black thing which to me looked like a larvae jumping about a foot in the air and then falling back down (so as to make the pinging sound) horrified I vacuumed it up but i cant find any information about this kind of creature anywhere and none of the thai people i work with have ever seen such a thing they say, I'm worried that there might be more, so any help in identifying this thing is very welcome.

Pictures worth a 1000 words.

Sounds like a click beetle. When on their backs they snap the two halves of their body backwards making a click like sound and can easily jump a foot in the air. They are harmless. Have a look here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uH4roWTUMoA

If it didn't answer to the name Lek it was probably a skipjack.
