Hello,

I am new to here so may not have seen any posts reagrding this before if there has been any.

I already have a work permit, so i have a non B visa, as im working at a school. I am going to go study at a uni and i know you need the non ED visa.

I am wandering becasue i already have a work permit if i need to get the ED visa and if so would that terminate my work permit? Or would it just be able to hold both ?

Anything on this matter would help as i cant seem to find an answer.

Attending a university or school does not require a ED visa. You can even do it on a tourist visa,

You can work and attend the University without a problem.

On the other hand obtaining an ED visa will not permit any work !

Hope you're not wandering too much these days. An ED visa is usually used by people who like to study, as a way to be legal here. You on the other hand are already on a Non-B, which allows you to work at a school.

You wouldn't have a work permit on an ED visa. Please clarify if you're planning to study full-time, as then you'd lose your Non-B visa and might need an ED visa then.

There is no law, rule or regulation that say you must get a special visa or extension of stay to go to school. As I said before you can even go to school with a tourist visa or even a visa exempt entry.

It is the same for many countries. The special visa you get just gives you the permission to stay you need to attend a school there is no reason to get the special visa if you already have that permission of stay.
