Update on renewing a UK passport in Thailand

Featured Replies

As most probably know already, the fees fro renewing a Uk passort are undergoing a massive reduction in cost from April 7th.

I just looked on the website for the procedures and noticed that it an now be done via an offce in Bangkok. The procedure is basically the same, with the exception that you cna now take all documentation and fee to this office who then send it off to be processed and returned to the office for you to collect when notified of its arrival with them.

The one thing I didnt read in the link is how much they are going to charge you for this service, as pretty sure it will not be free...biggrin.png

I actually think it might be free surprisingly as, when you apply for a UK Visa using the same office, there is no additional charge. The Embassy just seems to use them as a buffer to sort the paperwork and to avoid having to speak to anyone . I guess the fees are already exorbitant enough!
