Popular Post TVGerry
Red shirt democracy! Now you need be politically 'neutral' to perform in their territory. Did this singer protest against the Shinawatras? Or did he just vote Dem?

Popular Post BKKBrit
And you all seem to have succinctly forgotten Uncle Suthep's moves to Ch7 and Ch3 targeting them for not giving them enough airtime? And personally attacking one of Thailand's best commentators, Khun Sorayud, for not talking about them on his shows. Selective memory recall does not lead to balanced thinking.

Lancelot
Yes there are extremists on both sides; this is a power struggle, pure and simple. Its a Thai problem and the Thais will resolve it- or they won't. We in the USA lost our ability to compromise and it resulted in a bloody civil war from 1861 to 1865...
Popular Post MrJohnson
Next they'll be burning books. But let's face it - the other mob are just the same. Intolerance is the enemy. People should be allowed to express an opinion without fear of violence. Bring on the next election. Democrats - if you want to be in government then get out and win the hearts and minds of the electorate and stop behaving like a classroom full of petulant children.

Some folks don't understand irony and some are just plain argumentative I apologise if you genuinely meant irony in your post. Having spent some time on this forum one gets institutionalised by the continual drip drip drip gushing of "anti" propaganda on here.

Nickymaster
The protesters charged that Pongpat was not politically neutral and demanded the management to cancel the concert and to remove a poster publicising the concert which was put up in front of the premise. The reds force the cancellation and the reason is: the singer is not neutral. Proofs again how important education is.

Thank you for adding your second sentence. From the first one I thought you were talking about the PDRC fascist street thugs. Thanks for clearing up which group of fascist street thugs you were referring to.
fstarbkk
This People’s Radio for Democracy bunch are becoming quite the little red storm troopers. I'm sure book burnings are not far in the future. They have about as much in common with democracy as the other guys in the 30's were "socialists".
bkkbarbara
Some won't be happy until everything's politicized. Do you know the political affiliation of your housekeeper, your tailor, the cooks, and servers in your favorite restaurant? I don't and I don't need to. As for this case, the only important thing should have been can he sing and does anyone care to hear him. Those that don't, please just stay home.

You are right since freedom of speech and opinion is non-existent if you are not saying good thinfs about the Reds. His career is over in the North now. Not because he is a bad singer but because the PTP and UDD will scare anyone who hired him into cancelling his job. How is it again the PTP and UDD can say they are democratic party?Sent from my GT-S5310 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Scamper
A UDD member would not be a true UDD member without satisfying their need to impose cultural conformity and intolerance. It just wouldn't be right to allow others to express their views or even sing their music. If they're the " wrong type of people " - well, that's all they need. The UDD believe in democracy. But not free expression. Please contact Thida for further clarification.
Bkungbank
The power of democracy is to express one's thinking and freedom of speech not to suppress others people rights by demanding ridiculous demand , Some people still immature and misused the key word for personal gain.
