The only "fact" in that article that's not absolutely obvious or trivial is the fact that the crew are only paid for the hours when the wheels are off the ground. Now I know why so many of them always look pi**ed off these days, especially when there is any kind of delay to the flight!

A friend who is an FA for United told me they are not covered if they hurt themselves helping a person load a bag into an overhear compartment if it is before doors are closed.

Being an FA used to be prestigious but now it's sunk to a level not that far beyond flipping burgers. I watch the FA's on 100% full transpacific flights working their asses off...it must get pretty boring pretty quickly.
